Self Care Through The Lens of Ayurveda: Self Care For Ears (Ether)
Everything we hear has an affect on everything we are. When we hear gossip or negative words, we feel those words penetrate into our entire being. Pay attention to the music you listen to, the TV/movies you watch, the conversations your engage in, and what you surround yourself with on a daily basis. What can you do to elevate the sounds that move into your beautiful ears and nourish your whole self?
This can be practiced morning, afternoon, and evening.
Sadhana - Day 2 of Spiritual Readings with Liz Glover Wilson - Full Reading HERE
LET GO OF LOVED ONES, POSSESSIONS, AND CONTROL
On my spiritual journey, there has always been the re-emerging theme or call to ‘die to self’ and live a life of ‘non-attachment.’ These scriptures from my childhood echoed throughout my life, as I continued my love for the holy bible, and expanded my knowledge with other beautiful ancient scriptures such as the Upanishads and Yoga Sutras.
Yet, I did not really grasp what letting go meant, or more importantly ‘why’ we need to let go. I have suffered tragic loss of loved ones, possessions, and all of us—during COVID—lost control. I would think was the letting go.
In my Sadhana today, I was reminded of another form of letting go. This is about surrendering and letting go of the influence and power that loved ones, possessions, jobs, media and status have over your life. It’s about letting go of the stories you tell yourself and others project on to you; whether grand or self defeating (or swing from one to the other). Let it go. Lay it down.
It’s letting all these things dissolve in light of infinite love. Here you begin the process of coming back to your authentic self and your inner purpose.
Seva - Day 2 of Planet Care with Erik Phillips-Nania
Hymn to the Earth
O Mother! With your oceans and other waters, you give us land to grow food on which our survival depends. Please give us as much fresh fruits, waters, and cereals as we need. We offer these meditations and sacrifices for truth, greatness, universal order, purification, spiritual exaltation, to support the Earth.
Agni, deliver our prayers to the Earth. Agni is in the earth, in the plants, in the water, in the stones, within men, within animals! Agni glows from the sky and air. The mortals kindle Agni, the bringer of oblations. The Earth, clothed in Agni, makes me alert! I speak to the ground and the soil, upon thee that holds nourishment, prosperity, food, O Earth! May mankind be nourished by the cloud and loved by rain. O Mother, please pour a thousand streams of treasure to enrich us!
Ask to raise the vibration of Earth’s consciousness, to detoxify and reharmonize Earth energies that are stagnant or disturbed. Encourage the flow of Earth's prana…. Breathe deeply and feel your connection with Earth and life-giving sun, and bring to mind how your body is nourished by the Earth. Feel love and gratitude for the Earth. It flows through you to the area. Transmit energy into the Earth. Be aware of Earth receiving this love and being fertilized by the light of the sun. Ask your spirit guides or deity to transmit healing light and for the planet to be uplifted. Sense the shower of light falling around you. Feel the tingles all over. Feel at peace…
Nadi Shodhana
Continue with this breath. This is a breath that awakens us.
Take time to work on this powerful breath for 4 minutes. When complete, sit quietly and notice your sensations. See what comes up for you. What emotion? What is your heart saying? Write it down.
The instructions for this can be found on Day 13 HERE.
