Sadhana - Day 6 of Spiritual Readings with Liz Glover Wilson

When I was young I asked God to show me wisdom. I did not ask to be smart or get the best grades, as I somehow knew that I had the capability and would need to apply myself. I was asking for wisdom in my heart—for understanding. I wanted to make a difference in this life—have purpose!

Decades later, I am still on that journey to understanding, toward enlightenment and to find the will of God/my purpose/dharma. The journey with Yoga has been hugely helpful, and I believe there is wisdom in the ancient teachings that can benefit us all.

In Yoga, we use the Chakra energy system to explain our development and abilities - and, also our imbalances and emotional state. In yoga, we talk about sixth Chakra-Ajna or our third eye. We say this is the lens through which we create our perceptions of the reality we choose to live on Earth.

It’s how we perceive or ‘see’ our world and the many multi-dimensional worlds around us. It affects our beliefs, our dreams, our visions, and our view of things in general. Whatever filters we have created that are sitting in our third eye color any view we have of our reality.

The third eye affects our pineal and pituitary glands. The pineal gland is the gateway to the power of our light and our inner world. It gives us our direction and supports our creativity. It assists us to be enthusiastic and determined and helps us to grow and be flexible so we can flow in life.

The pituitary gland helps us to believe in ourselves and to find the right action for what we do and say in life. It governs all that we share and project into our outer world.

So here is where the ancient wisdom is revealed, as they did not have the technology to understand the power of the pineal and pituitary glands—yet they explained it in detail. Our technology today confirms their knowing.

Contemplative Practice:

In the contemplative practice, we seek the ancient texts and scriptures with openness. We consider the collective voice of the sages who speak to us from the various texts (from many living religions). What you will find is that the challenges of the body, mind and soul have persisted. The ancient seekers and seers sought remedy, redemption and liberation. Many found or were given the tools to access and relayed them to us all. In your quiet time ask for wisdom. The third eye kind of wisdom, so that you can have clarity, peace and joy. It is said ones bodily auro increases as they find their alignment/calling/dharma and divine inspiration.

A cocoon of light:

Today’s practice.

Pause and Be Still
As I enter prayer and the contemplative practice, I pause to be still; to breathe slowly; to re-center my scattered senses upon the presence of the Divine. May myself be guided by the greater Self/God.

As I pray and meditate in my time of quiet contemplation, there is an unleashing of the full potential. As I filter through the layers of fog and dis-ease in my being, I feel alignment to divine truth. This is the journey towards enlightment.

This power of BE-ing is like a cocoon of light; a radiant energy coming from my soul and out into the world around me. It protects me and heals others.

In Barbara Ann Brennan’s book Hands of Light | A Guide to Healing Through the Human Energy Field, she explores the auras and healing. Below is a healed and whole aura. Make this a vision for your spiritual journey; asking for wisdom to know where you need repair and the ability to self-heal and strengthen your light.

In the Christian scriptures it is said - in many studies - that Jesus was referring to the third eye in Matthew 6:

“The eye (singular) is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!”

Yielding Prayer
I ask the Divine to give me the strength and courage
to stand in the pure white light of my Divine Spirit;
to open my heart and connect to the divinity within me;
to open to the pure light of healing;
to choose to open my third eye
and sit in the divinity of awareness,
and let all else drop away;
to leave behind all attachments, emotions, limitations, and old stories;
to leave all behind and simply sit unburdened, naked and alone in the pure white light of the Divine Spirit
and breathe in the pure light;
and allow it to fill me on every level of my being;
and become whole again.

Sixth Chakra:

We focus on the affirmations of this chakra today, and anytime we need healing in this area of our life.
